Fiber & Dimension Workshop / ONLINE

In this immersive, hands-on 2-day workshop, participants will acquire valuable methods for constructing sturdy yet flexible moulds using wire mesh and plaster cloth perfectly suited for casting textured flax fiber paper. This workshop warmly welcomes all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists.

Workshop Outline:

• Transform flax roving into textured paper with inclusions for texture and color.

• Learn how to make a reusable mould with wire mesh and plaster cloth. This is great if you are interested in developing a series of multiples.

• Your sculpture can be enhanced with stitching after drying and mark-making with ink, stain, paint.

Schedule:

• Day 1. Design and make your mould with wire mesh and plaster cloth.

• Day 2: Make flax fiber paper to be applied over your mould/form.

Workshop Details:

• This 2-day online workshop provides adequate time for drying between sessions.

• A comprehensive materials and resource list will be sent via email upon registration.

• The 2-day online workshop sessions run from 10 am to 1 pm MST.

• Participants will receive the Zoom link by email shortly before the first scheduled session.
