



































Papermaking & Constructions - In-Person Workshop
Join me for a 2-day immersive study of papermaking for sculpture designed to elevate your creative practice. Set against the serene backdrop of northern New Mexico, this retreat experience offers creatives the opportunity to engage in daily sessions focused on skill development, ways of seeing, interweave what art practice means to you; what is creativity vs. art; make friends with the inner-critic; work with shape, texture, scale, and have fun.
We will focus on papermaking with abaca linters and sheet formation for sculpture through dimensionality and perception. You will explore the myriad of possibilities about how to use simple materials for self-expression as well as finding your artistic path.

What’s Included:
Instruction, demonstrations and access to all studio materials and supplies.
Coffee, tea, snacks
Principal areas of focus are papermaking and sculpture
Learn how to make paper with abaca linters
Make constructions with rattan, foraged materials and wire
Forage for local materials
Mark-making and surface design/embellishment with sumi ink and indigo
At the end of the retreat you will have a collection of paper and sculptures to take home with you. Please make arrangements for shipping your work if necessary
All skill levels are welcome. Please be prepared to manage stairs.
Workshop Hours:
10am - 4pm daily with lunch break, and afternoon snacks
Transportation:
Arroyo Hondo is just minutes from the Rio Grande, Taos Plaza, and Arroyo Seco with shops and galleries to explore.
Airports: Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Denver and Taos
Participants are responsible for travel to and from the studio along with car rental.
Local accommodations: Airbnb, VRBO, excellent hotel lodging, camping
What to bring:
Bag lunch
Although materials and supplies are included, you are encouraged to bring materials you’d like to experiment with.
Wear comfortable layered clothing to accommodate weather variations.
High desert elevations can cause dehydration.

I recommend trip insurance to cover your stay should unexpected events occur causing your cancellation.
In the event of cancellation, you have full credit (less the $500 deposit) for any future workshop within 3 months of the original reservation.
