rain, rain, rain
The world is different after a day of rain. My hair has renewed body. I breathe in fresh air. Azure blue sky dotted with giant white clouds marks the beginning of thunderstorm season.
March was a creative month with art sales and a commission. My studio is ready for new work. On the last day of March I delivered several of my sculptures to the Santa Fe State Capitol Building Gallery for the annual exhibition Intersection: Form and Color. The contemporary mixed media abstract artworks featuring nineteen northern New Mexico artists with be on display from April 3-December 18, 2026, curated by Dr. Cynthia Sanchez. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Stepping into April with Easter marking time, I’m thinking about colorful eggs and hunts of the past, bunny costumes and baskets, lamb feasts and family gatherings wrapped in old world traditions. I miss those days, but I’m on a new hunt, a new exploration of what this time means for me not wasting a moment in the shoulda, coulda, woulda hum. No, it’s paper made by hand time…the foundation of my creative process.
